BONNER BLACK

Nostalgic, anthemic indie pop

Bonner Black, the classically trained ballerina turned singer/songwriter from Hot Rock, TN, began her life on stage at 4 years old. In her early teen years, she taught herself to play guitar on YouTube and, by the time she was in 9th grade, she was writing and performing in Nashville 3 to 5 days per week, made possible by homeschooling. At seventeen, Black moved to Nashville to continue honing her craft and embarked on her first regional tour throughout the Southeast. During that time, Black participated in four lobbying trips with NSAI to Washington, DC to advocate for songwriters and copyright law reform. In 2016, she was awarded the Artist Entrepreneur Award by The Oxford Center of Entrepreneurs at The Times Center in New York City. With over 500 shows under her belt, she has opened for acts like The Bellamy Brothers, Charlie Daniels, and The Band Perry, and has been a regular at Nashville's most popular songwriter venues, The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room. She has independently amassed over 500k streams to date and cultivated an engaged fan base with over 85k social media followers.

Her Debut EP, Out Of Dreams, was released May 6th, 2022 and featured songs placed on Spotify's, “Today's Singer Songwriters”, Apple Music's Breaking Singer Songwriter, and New York Time’s 2023 Spring Playlist. At the top of 2023 she announced new tour dates and released the first single from her newest project, "Breaking A Sweat". The sweet, nostalgic 90’s, indie pop summer anthem made its debut on Nashville's #1 independent radio station, Lighting 100 and was placed on Spotify’s, “Next Gen Singer-Songwriter”. She quickly followed with second and third singles, “Take Me On” (dreamy, driven, reminiscent of Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac) and “I’m Not Your Girl” (a blood pumping scream in your car song for hopeless romantics) which gained over 71,000 new streams. The next fourth single, “Catch 22”, . was placed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds Pop”.
